Исландия, как известно «страна льдов и вулканов», и тем прекраснее ее природа и ландшафты. Это островное государство омывается Атлантическим океаном, а северо-востоке омывается Северным Ледовитым океаном. Исландский фотограф Гуннар Фрейр воспользовался моментом, чтобы показать удивительную красоту родной страны без туристов.

С помощью дрона снял опустевший пляж с черным песком Рейнисфьяр, одной из достопримечательности острова. В его инстаграме множество снимков природных образований, снятых с помощью фото-камеры и дронов.

Прибрежные воды свободны ото льда в течение всего года. Погода в этой стране резко меняется, иногда в течение суток, что зависит от прохождения циклонов в восточном направлении через Атлантический океан. Есть одна шуточная исландская пословица, которая гласит: «Если вам не нравится погода, подождите пять минут, и станет ещё хуже». В течение всего лета в Исландии можно также наблюдать такое явление, как «белые ночи».

In just a few days, Iceland opens up again to the world. I’ve really enjoyed getting the chance to visit some of these classic spots without any people, and I managed to experience a kind of serenity that I haven’t felt in these places before. And even though this has been an interesting experience, it’s also been a very sad time; where the absence of tourists has been a stark reminder of the terrible situation the world has been dealing with. Hopefully, we’ve turned a corner now and there are brighter times ahead. ☺️✌️#iceland

New beginnings. After a dark pre-spring, things are finally starting to look a lot brigther here in Iceland. Both literally in terms of daylight and because the spread of the virus has slowed down quite a bit. In the past week, we had many days with 0 new confirmed cases, and the other days around 1-2 cases. When you go around Iceland, things are starting to look a bit more normal, fewer face masks, gloves and a general feeling of people being more at ease. Lets hope this positive development continues here as well as in many other countries! Happy weekend folks! #iceland

Being at home so much during the Covid Crisis is a challenge for everyone. For those without kids, it’s a battle against loneliness and lack of perspective. For those with kids, it’s a battle between entertaining those little munchkins and at the same trying to find some headspace to get work done. But for all of us, the opportunity to look inwards remains. Appreciating the smaller things, the things at home which we take for granted and those small projects that we never seem to find the time to do. Whether it’s going through old folders of photos or old physical folders, there’s always something that we’ve been neglecting and pushing out of our heads. Who knows what you’ll find! Gunnuhver, a hot-spring located on the Reykjanes Peninsula is one of the first places I visited when I first moved to Iceland back in late 2014. So much in my life has changed since then, but this place is still equally amazing. Named after a ghost, which is supposed to have been trapped inside the hot-spring, there’s a very intense atmosphere at this place. Great to be back. #iceland
